ICCD Plans Move from Cornell University Campus to Downtown Ithaca

By Sean A. Fanelli
Chair, ICCD Board of Directors
Winter 2009

The Institute for Community College Development's Board of Directors met in June 2008 to realign the institute's programs and services with the original mission of promoting educational and professional development opportunities for current or future administrators and faculty members of community colleges within New York and surrounding states.

In January 2009, ICCD's board further defined the direction of the institute. ICCD will relocate its offices from its present location within Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations to downtown Ithaca while still maintaining its connection with Cornell University. Funding will be from New York State with existing Cornell carry-over funds being used for development of programs and services.

While the board is creating a job description for an executive director, Lee Riddell, the assistant director, will continue to develop and coordinate leadership programs. As ICCD moves to a new location and selects a new leader, the board is looking forward to a smooth transition for the institute in the months ahead.
