Nine Community Colleges Awarded 2006 Applied Research Grants
ICCD is pleased to announce that nine community colleges have received our 2006 applied research grants of up to $5,000 each for studies that address timely issues, problems or opportunities faced by community college policy makers and practitioners. Grants are awarded to faculty and staff who most effectively propose studies that incorporate a systems perspective, that respond to a well developed and significant issue faced by today's community college, and that contain explicit goals to use the findings to inform the decision making of community college leaders.
Through the support of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, six of the nine grants were awarded to the following community colleges addressing their colleges' entrepreneurship programs and entrepreneurial strategies:
- Anne Arundel Community College, Maryland
- Bristol Community College, Massachusetts
- Butler County Community College, Pennsylvania
- Dakota County Technical College, Minnesota
- Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, and
- Onondaga Community College, New York
Three of the nine recipients received grants for general projects:
- Columbia-Greene Community College, New York
- Mohawk Valley College, New York, and
- Nassau Community College, New York
