November 9-11, 2006

A three day conference covering labor law, alternative bargaining methods and contract administration, this program will be led by faculty from the internationally-recognized ILR School at Cornell University who have worked directly with community colleges as negotiations consultants and arbitrators.  They will utilize case studies, role-playing and small groups to provide participants with hands-on experiences.

  • How to administer a contract to avoid grievances and how to prepare for arbitration.

A panel of presidents and union leaders from community colleges will share their experiences with different models of bargaining.

Harry Katz, Dean of the ILR School and author of Converging Divergences, Worldwide Changes in Employment Systems, will be the opening speaker.

Who should attend:

  • Presidents and their senior leadership teams
  • Department chairs and others responsible for administering the contract
