EcoVillage at Ithaca: Learning from a
Sustainable Community
EcoVillage at Ithaca (EVI) is an
internationally-recognized example of
sustainable community development.
The presentation and tour will be led by
Liz Walker, co-founder and executive director
of EcoVillage at Ithaca since 1991 and author
of the book EcoVillage at Ithaca: Pioneering
a Sustainable Culture, and Elan Shapiro, the
education coordinator at EcoVillage at Ithaca,
co-founder and program co-chair of
Sustainable Tompkins, and sustainability
educator and consultant with Ithaca College,
Cornell University and numerous other civic
and educational organizations.
