Labor Relations/Interest Based Bargaining
Sometimes labeled “bargaining for mutual gains” or “integrative bargaining,” interest based bargaining helps each party in the negotiating process address underlying needs and concerns. The goals are to create lasting solutions to difficult problems and to improve relationships.
Interest based negotiations can be applied to a wide variety of situations in addition to collective bargaining.
Specialized workshops in interest based contract negotiations, interest based contract administration, and labor management relationship building are also available.
Contact ICCD at iccd@cornell.edu to schedule a workshop at your college.
